R-1: RESEARCH METHODOLOGY



Time: 3 hours                                                     Maximum Marks: 100


                                                                                     


Note:           (i)     There are two sections.


(ii)    Section A has six questions, each carrying 15 marks.


        Attempt any four questions from section A.


(iii)  Section B is compulsory and carries 40 marks. Attempt


       both questions.


(iv)  Statistical tables may be supplied on request.


SECTION- A




  1. Discuss the significance and importance of the elements that make up the research process concerning a management decision.



  1. State clearly the assumptions embodied in any one of the following experimental designs: Latin square design Randomized complete block design





  1. What is Semantic Differential scale? What does it measure? Describe the steps involved in the construction of a semantic differential scale.



  1. What are the objectives of modeling in a decision-making situation? Discuss different steps associated with model development.



  1. What is the importance of reviewing and editing the draft research report? What questions are generally raised in reviewing the draft?


SECTION- B




  1. Write short note on any four of the following:



  • Sampling and Census

  • Cluster sampling

  • Discriminant Analysis

  • Copy reading and proofreading of the reports preparation



  • Categories of Reports

  • Footnotes and Bibliographies



  1. Use the sign test to see if there is a difference between the number of days required to collect an account receivable before and after a new collection policy. Use the 0.05 significance level.
